On this thanksgiving i will not be thankful about my ungrateful brother!

If you come across the name Mike E. Wong stay away! (no offense to all other mike wong’s out there)

My brother has me so bad that im writing a blog @ 3:30AM after being awake since 6AM and driving since 11:30AM which is approximately 16 hours of driving from NEW YORK!. minus gas stops and bathroom breaks and what not.

Where to start

This where I start, as some of you know my step brother (same blood on dads side) moved back in to this house since he has no more high school teaching job in new york city.
So last last week or 2 weeks ago, he moved back in, not there are effectively 6 people living in this small downtown house.

He asked me if i was free to help him move? I said sure. Being the younger brother i should help right? (Please keep in mind that I have no real memories of him because he  wasn’t really a strong brother figure growing up.) So out of the kindness of my heart i say yes and see that this is a potential opportunity to catch up and see what kind of person he is and if he has changed from what family says about him.

Another thing what I notice about him is he is  a pACK RAT. He had so much STUFF THAT HE RNETED A 12 FOOT UHAUL packed! when i opened the U-HAUL Door, stuff already started falling out.

During unloading we noticed he kept so much crap, things like PLASTIC BAGS, a bag full of plastic bags, multiples desks, multiples office chairs, Multiple printers. But jeez like how much does ONE PERSON NEED?!??!?!

So the move went alright, he still seems somewhat awkward to be around.

Now in between that days i moved a U-HAUL FULL OF HIS S**T and the today or yesterday drives whichever, he has asked me for things like how to get parking permit and i volunteered my permit for his use.

He needed a Printer cable, i rummaged through my basement for a cable for his use.

Are there not considered favors?

And this is the biggest favor is that,
so he asks me when im free, i ask him why? he says its because he needs help with the drive to drive back his cars from NY. otherwise he’d be making two trips. it just so happened that he asked this on Wednesday and conveniently i was already going to New York. I was flying there but bussing back.

Now heres the part that i’m completely upset about.
Loss of time I’m volunteering my time, LOTS OF IT, TIME THAT COULD BE USED FOR OTHER THINGS. heres what i mean, this Trip TOOK 16 HOURS OF MY DAY! AS YOU CAN SEE, thats a lot of time. normally I take a bus to new york its 12 hours but heck i get to sleep, study, watch movies whatever.  But having me drive a big fcken truck, i can’t do that.
On the way back, approaching Canada, There are 3 bridges with wait times shown:
Peace Bridge 60-120MINS
Rainbow Bridge and 60-120MINS
Queenston Lewiston Bridge 120-180 MINS
while in new york state on route to canada, theres a digital board that tells you the estimated wait times, while 15 miles from the border you can still choose the route to alternate bridges, Of course he has to chose the bridge witht eh longest FUCKEN WAIT!. which i calculated actually turned out to be THREE BLOODY Hours and TWENTY MINUTES at snail crawling traffic. HavE SOME DAMN RESPECT FOR SOMEONES TIMES
Also when someone decides to go on the road with you, isn’t it expected that you should offer to pay someone back their expenses. if you haven’t driven in new york state before (THERE ARE A LOT OF TOLLS) we went through like 5 dolls. Remember there are two cars here so he has a pass that automatically bills his vehicle i have to stop and pay the tolls. the tolls Totaling at least $10 Bucks out of my own pocket. That should be reimbursed don’t you think?
Lastly dont’ tyou think if someone is volunteering lots of their time and not charing you labor, or EVEN COSTING YOU TO GET THE PERSON TO GO there first, don’t you think you SHOULD ATLEAST OFFER TO PAY FOR THEIR FOOD!. Even IF YOU KNOW they might say NO. not in my case because in my case i pay for a lot of the utilities already and im still a student i have less disposable income then ever now. but since this is a big brother little brother relationship isn’t it customary for the big brother to ask if the little brother would like something to eat? and if he does, shouldn’t he offer to pay instead of the little brother paying out of his own pocket?!

I recieved no decently  for respect of my time, nor for caring like a big brother should when the little one is already struggling.
Anyways im so fucken tired, i lost a day of studying cuase of this brother, i now no longer will call him an older brother he is just like the other stranger living in our house

Today on the subway ride home from school, i had another depressed moment.

I realize that i hated having being the son of my dad. why?

I live have given me a pretty difficult life.

I've already given up my car, gave the money to my dad.
I have to buy own my groceries and haul them back myself on the subway ride from school? why because its closeest to school where ic an stay warm.
I buy my own food, i pay for my own metropass.
I have to pay for my own spending (Chilling money)
I have to pay for my own cell phone bill, My sisters bill
i pay for my school expenses (texts, school supplies)
and now thats hes started complaining im paying the internet.
and on top of that
I always lend him money thorugh my credit cards and i end up paying hte interest

This is why im stressed.

Welcome to Ryehigh 2009!

Once again I am impressed, for those of you who know me, know that I consider the some of the people that go to my "University" quite immature, or loud, and sometimes obnoxious. I may or may not be easily amused but thats beside the point. My next statement is going to once again prove how mature we really are as Post Secondary students.

Remember when you were back in high school your first week, you got your time table, you were assigned your locker, then you went to class. Back up and rewind one step. Locker assignments were easy for the most part, except whenever there was a minor administrative error. No problem you were reassigned another locker. You never had brutes. But at Ryerson University, or some of you refer to as "rye high" its not quite the case. This school does have lockers yes; thats right a university that has lockers, but ryerson is a different kind of university, its a practical school we offer things like fashion management, (yes you can get a degree in that), and BioChem etc... and for those they need lockers to store their Lab coats, or their future new brand of couture. anyways regardless we have lockers. However in this first week, its chaos. People who claim they have this locker but htey don't know, and so on. SO there are what I like to call "Locker Warz". I've seen many notes this week, but this one was very much worth blogging about check it out.

For those of you who can't read it, this is what it says

Person X:"This locker has been signed out. Please remove your things from this locker by Thursday Sept 17 OR else every thing will be thrown out by Friday.
Thank You."

Person Y responding to X: "You have to take the contents to security... Please throw your self out."

Goes to show that not all of us have matured. but funny non the less!

If you thought biking would shield Highway Traffic Act, think again.

At the moment I am not liking the Law Enforcement agency that is “Toronto Police Services” very much right now at the moment. Over my years in this city, I’ve had numerous encounters with them Averaging one encounter a year since i was 18. My first recollection when i was probably 12, or so, i had fallen asleep on the Train ended up missing my stop and riding it the train to the end of the line. The TTC operator woke me up and called the police to take my home. Sadly i did have to sit in the back.

From then it things went down hill; after that my next several encounters with the police were not as helpful as my initial one. With each encounter, i usually end up walking away with two pieces of paper; a offense notice in one and a pre addressed envelope in where the city collect their grab in the other. I have to say I did not fancy either or.

My most recent encounter was not that long ago, at 10:12(AM) according the officers note on my citation. I was biking east bound on at College & Bellevue Street just east of Bathurst. It was a 3 way Traffic intersection. I sped through at full speed having scanned the intersection and knowing that there was no imminent danger since on my side had no intersection for cars, just a pedistrian crossing with no pedestrians crossing at the time. The officer was hide behind a park car in a bike trap. Then i got busted for "Failing to stop at a red light”.

Sadly last year I was also busted at this bike trap for not having a “horn” a.k.a Bell on my bike. This officer was not so friendly in telling me how i could get out of this citation like the last one was.

Needless to say, they have not done a lot for me in many years. For those of you who have the need for speed, and thought that by biking you could get away unscathed, think again! Cops Suck.

Ryerson's Library is a F*#$en Joke!

I'm definitely writing this blog out of anger though i have calmed down. Not a long time ago, (about less then 10 minutes i'd say) i sat myself down in the ground floor of the Ryerson Library. i proceeded to the corner of the library that had four vacant individuals leather chairs with detachtables desktop. Dropped my textbooks and water bottle, on the coffee table, Occupied myself in of the seats and pulled out my phone to check my text messages.

I spent about 3 minutes on my phone replying to texts, shortly after i started texting a woman sat in the chair adjacent to me that was about 2 feet away. She pulls out her agenda, and what looks like she's about to do some quiet work, How wrong was I! Her damn phone starts to ring and she starts her conversation. about a few minutes later I'm done my texting and she's still on her phone. I hear this woman talking to her the other person thats on the line about how she's "whispering because she's in the library" Then someone she starts talking about how her Mom died when she was 3 and how her dad died when she was 6 and she went to the mothers funeral but not to the fathers, blah blah blah!

At this point I'm still pretty patient, I'm hoping that the other person will acknowledge that she is indeed INFACT IN A LIBRARY and will kindly let her off her handset. The person on the other line, - doesn't. So at this point I'm thinking politely a way of asking her to please take her phone call outside without interrupting her phone call. (Yes I'm considerate like that) So i lean over to the left and whisper " excuse me" and she says "Am I bothering you." and tell mean to say "Sorry, but can you please have some courtesy to others" (Afterall is it a library right??!) but she interrupts me and insults me by calling me. "Rude." At this point Im going what the devil. How am i rude? I used the most polite way i know possible to ask her to kindly take her phone call outside. it is after all library. She starts packing up her things and I try to defend myself by asking how am i rude? "She retaliates back by telling me to "Grow Up, This is University." At this point Im infuriated inside. Such no respect for others. She walks away.

I am quite angry because this is Ryerson for god sakes, if your here in the day, its loud as as a circus, who can think with all that noise; but at night its quiet because everyone has gone home. Only real students study at this time. however, people don't come to study, they come her to talk out loud and socialize. When in comparison of our library to our neighbors to the north at U of T's library, Ryerson Students have no respect at all. I will admit, I often find myself going to U of T Libraries because, its a nice atmosphere, quiet, students actually study QUIETLY. there is a talking area for cell phones, and that no talking on the cell phone outside inside the study area is enforced and secondly, STUDENTS WILL DOWNRIGHT STARE AT YOU UNTIL YOU SHUT YOUR HOLE. But at night, especially at 11:00 Ryerson should be quiet.

So i ask you, am I the wrong do-er here? Was I not here first? Its 11:00PM Could she have not just took her call outside? Am i Not the victim? of unwarranted verbal abuse and harassment? This is complete injustice, i hope you get what you deserve!
